Bollocks, I’ve had a Looner fireball disaster

The wheels came as shown in the eBay listing, they definitely started life a dark blue colour, like 2nd Gen kryptonics, you could see the colour where the one wheel had been chewed.

They must have been as around 65 mm when new also as they are 60ish now a good bit smaller than the Yellow birds shown

I washed them up and quite liked them for the money however I decided to put bearings in them and two of them split but not the chewed one

Will just have to take that one on the chin, thankfully they were not nos, and a lesson learnt for the future

I’ve never had that happen before.

thats a shame,some wheels can go hard and disintegrate,i think it all depends on how they have been stored,if they have been stored in someones roofspace for x amount of yrs and got boiling hot each summer then frozen each winter the urethane doesnt like it,i posted a pic once of some nos oj's i had,one cracked like yours and the other one completely split in two!
at least youve come up with a name for a new james bond film, "the lunar fireball disaster!"

Yeh shame that Steve , lucky they were cheap enough makes you think whether to leave them in boiling water prior to whacking the bearing in , no good saying now but for future maybe , you don't think about the rubber hardening with age but I suppose some are bound to

I wonder is it partly because they were so hard to start with

I noticed for the first time that in the Advert on page two of this post it mentions that they are available at 95a in Navy blue

Before this set I’d only ever seen them in red

Yeh that's hard I think kryps are high 70s , so maybe

green krps were 95 i think so nothing especially different,i love the warning, no cornering ability!
